I walked into the grocery store and started my weekly shopping. I was halfway down the chip isle when a young man with blonde hair came running down the isle and ran into me causing him to fall onto me. He stood up looking back quickly then extended his hand to help me up. I grabbed his hand as he pulled me up. I could hear a lot of people running and screaming coming toward me. The man threw the Reebok hat he had on onto one of the shelves then pulled me close. I heard people turn down the isle I was in. the man kissed me as the people ran by screaming not paying any attention to me and this man. He pulled away as the last of the screaming people turned out of the isle. He turned around and grabbed his hat and put it back on.
“I’m so sorry, but I needed to lose those crazed fans.” He said looking at me.
“Oh it’s ok.” I said turning back to my basket. I felt a hand on my shoulder. The hand pulled me back to face the man attached to it.
“Don’t leave just yet. At least let me introduce myself.” He said. There was a short silence.
“So are you going to introduce yourself or are you just going to stand there?” I asked looking down.
“Yea, I’m Jordan Staal, and you are?” He said. I looked up finally seeing how amazingly cute he was. Jordan had beautiful short blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes.
“I’m Emily Camecho. So you are a hockey player right?” I said gazing into his eyes using a sarcastic tone.
“Well Emily, to answer your question yes I am a hockey player one of the youngest actually.” He said returning the sarcastic tone. I laughed at that.
“So I was wondering if you would uh...” I cut him off.
“Are you asking me out on a date, Jordan Staal, hockey player?” I asked.
“Well Miss Emily, I was trying to. Will you let me try again?” he asked a little impatient.
“Sure. I said with a sigh.
“So Emily, I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?” he asked with confidence.
“Only if there are no fans.” I said. His face sadden at first then quickly brightened up.
“Anything for you, Emily.” He said. I laughed.
“So where should we go or meet?” I asked.
“I was thinking your house because it’s private and none of my fans will know I will be there.” He said.
“OK, but are you implying that I have to cook?” I asked.
“No, I would never make you do that. I was going to pick something up. Do you like Chinese take out?” He asked.
“Yes, that will be great. Give me your hand.” I said. I took out a pen and grabbed Jordan's extended hand. I wrote down my address and said, “Come to this address around…..”
“6:30.” He said finishing my sentence.
“Yea, and remember no fans.” I said half laughing.
“So what are you buying here?” I asked and walked further down the isle.
“I was here just to get some basic food, but someone noticed me and that person soon became a mob of fans.” He said as I laughed.
“Do you need any help with your shopping?” He asked.
“Sure, I guess you can stay.” I sighed sarcastically. He followed me occasionally getting some things that were too high for my reach. Once finished we got into a line close to the door just in case he was noticed he could make a quick break away. He insisted on paying for the groceries, but I silenced him with a quick shove in the stomach. We walked to my car and Jordan helped put the bags into the back of my car.
“See you at 6:30.” He said turning to walk to his car.
“Can’t wait.” I said. I could feel a smile coming onto my face. I walk to the driver side door, opened it, and hopped into my car.
